From birth to death, life is meant to be a meaningful and unique adventure filled with rites of passage (not a copy-and-paste, cookie-cutter deal). If you have something important to celebrate, honour, mourn or acknowledge, I am here to bring joy, wisdom, perspective and healing.
Meaningful Lives offers authorised civil celebrancy and end-of-life doula services, with a quirky but deeply respectful appreciation for bespoke ceremony and meeting people where they are. My approach is guided by three questions: Is it safe? Is it legal? Is it beautiful? If it’s yes to all three, then anything is possible.
Ceremonies and rituals include (and not limited to) legal weddings, commitments and renewals, approaching parenthood blessings, name blessings for any age, storytime-style children’s celebrations, funerals, memorials, living wakes and transitional moments that mark a new chapter in our lives.
As an end-of-life doula, I provide non-medical support to help people navigate the outgoing journey. Think of it as an event planner for death, or like a birth doula but for the other end of life. (Or Luna Lovegood with Hermoine Granger rising, for the Harry Potter fans.) I can help with things like companionate care, appointment advocacy, legacy story creation, deathbed vigiling, home-based after-death care, funeral preparation and delivery. I am also available as a death literacy education speaker, particularly around becoming more comfortable about talking about death and dying.
Life is ultimately the most precious resource we have – let’s make it meaningful together.
